One year at JComms

One year at JComms

What a year it has been! When I graduated just over a year ago, I didn’t imagine I’d be in the position I am in now with the wealth of experience and knowledge I’ve managed to gain in my first year with JComms.

Broadening my horizons

From the get-go I was immersed in the PR agency experience, working with multiple clients across a range of industries, with some on a global scale! Coming from an in-house role previously, I really enjoy the variety and fast paced environment of agency life and the challenges that each day bring, broadening my horizons to learn something new each day.

No day is the same with JComms and there are always new and exciting projects and campaigns on the go. Some of my favourite parts of the job are getting out and about to meet clients face to face, and attending events where I can chat to industry professionals and learn more about the fields that I’m working in.

Developing my skills

I get to work with a range of clients in a range of industries such as RICS, CDE, Norbrook, ANGOKANorthern Ireland Science Festival, and leading on the PR work we do with Power NI around their Brighter Communities initiative. Working with this range of clients gives me the opportunity to use the skills and knowledge that I continue to develop to create and implement strategies to help clients in achieving their goals.

Earlier this year, I was given the opportunity to utilise my digital marketing skills to undertake some new projects, such as social media content curation for clients, which I continue to enjoy. It’s another side of marketing and communications which I have a passion for as well as PR, and I’m very grateful to be able to work on two keen interests of mine.

Multiple training sessions

Some of the key highlights for me in the past year were attending my first ever Balmoral Show with principal sponsor’s Ulster Bank, assisting with learning at multiple training sessions with CIPR that JComms put me through where I can develop my skills and network with other PR and communications professionals across the UK and beyond.

Always up for a laugh

I wouldn’t be able to reflect on the past year without highlighting the immense support and encouragement from the whole JComms team, who made me feel very welcome from day one. It’s an absolute pleasure working alongside so many hardworking, dedicated professionals who are always more than willing to give a helping hand. Not to mention they are always up for a laugh, which makes the day even better!

Safe to say it has been a fantastic year and I thoroughly look forward to seeing what my future holds with JComms.
