Our colleague Suzy Spence has won the Rising Star award at the PRCA (Public Relations and Communications Association) Northern Ireland DARE Awards.

Suzy collected the accolade at a recent awards ceremony in the Merchant Hotel.

A former pupil of Belfast High School and graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Suzy completed the CIPR Professional Certificate last year, furthering her qualifications in PR.

In a great night for Suzy and JComms, we also won the Media Relations award for work on the opening of Amelia Hall in Belfast. JComms was also a finalist for work on the opening of the world’s first stand-alone Primark Home store.

Chris Harrison, Managing Director of JComms, said: “The PRCA DARE Awards celebrate and reward the very best PR and communications professionals, with winners determined by a panel of highly respected industry experts. We are delighted that Suzy won the Rising Star Award in what has been a remarkable year for Suzy personally and professionally. Suzy has made an incredibly positive impact on JComms in her time with the company and is truly a rising star”.

The Rising Star award is open to ‘NextGen’ Individuals in both consultancies and in-house teams. The winner is recognised for an outstanding performance within their organisation and to the wider PR industry.

Outside of JComms, Suzy made headlines earlier this year for bravely telling the story of undergoing groundbreaking surgery to remove a tumour in her salivary gland. She has also been working on a pro bono basis to support Learning Disability Pride which takes place in Carrickfergus.
